from - Albert and Rosie Coatman, R.D.D.U., Kenyon House, Prestwich Hospital, Prestwich. Manchester 21st. May Dear Mam and Dad, thank you for your letter. I'm glad to hear Mam is improving a bit and I hope it will be soon that the specialist sends for her. We are both still here and making every effort to work all our problems out and become strong enough to face any problems we may have to face in the future without trying to hide from them with drugs, as we both know that is what we have been doing for a long time now. The kids are all well and we now get picked up three times a week to go to the home and see them. We went yesterday evening and went to Oldhan swimming baths with them. Jermaine has learned to swim a bit while she has been there, and Rachael has overcome her fear of the water at least and now plays quite happily in the shallow end, and Paul can dive from the ten foot diving board into the diving pool. We had some problems with Paul a few weks ago he was very upset as you know, but he seems to have cheered up quite a lot but he still seems a little quiet, the girls sometimes cry a little and ask to go home which hurts a little but also reminds us of our responsibility for the situation and that we are loved and needed by all three of them. Rosie is doing very well, a few times she has felt like running from here, when she was confronted with some difficulties, and in the end she has found the strength to keep fighting on. The same thing has happened to me over the weeks too, but I now feel very confident that I am over the worst and that we have done some hard growing up. Our relationship with each other is improving no end too. We have been hurting each other and arguing and blaming each other for everything for years. We have been having marriage therapy sessions twice a week as well as the normal group therapy, drama therapy etc., and these seem to be paying off for us. I hope to be going home sometime in the next three weeks, and Rosie will probably only be here for about a month after that, and that will be when the really hard work will begin, putting into practice what we have learnt here. Anyway, I'll finish now. I'll phone you in the week. All our love, Albert and Rosie.
